WHO STANDS BEHIND BUSDOX?The founder and owner is Colin Wilson.

He was admitted as a Member of the Institution of Engineers (MIEAust) in 1990 and as a Certified Practicing Engineer (CPEng) in 2001. Colin worked for 28 years with Telecom Australia/Telstra, in a number of different roles ranging from Technical Instructor to Procurement Engineer to Executive Manager - Planning and Technology. His final three positions had significant procurement responsibilities on both the buy and the sell side of the negotiating table. Colin has been involved a most aspects of procurement management and has spent a substantial part of the past 25 years working and learning in this field. After leaving Telstra in 2000, Colin has been providing high-level consulting services to a number of Australian and international companies both government and non-government with a focus on both Project Management and Procurement Management. Colin’s most recent client was Australia Post where he successfully managed, on their behalf, a large Procurement Event for a replacement of Australia Post’s mid-range computing platform. He was invited back to manage a number of other significant, complex and novel technology acquisitions. HOW CAN BUSDOX BE OF SERVICE?These days, as with most topics, there is a plethora of information available on the internet. A quick check on Google for the term “Procurement Management” will yield 19,000,000 results while the simpler term “Procurement” yields an enormous 36,200,000. Some of these resources are excellent and I would encourage anyone interested in Procurement Management to check out this wealth of information for themselves.
What you will find at BUSDOX however, is a detailed, yet focussed, treatment of the topic. We will start with a simple high-level framework diagram and take you through the key steps required to achieve a successful outcome. We will then delve into a greater level of detail with detailed process description and process diagrams. In addition, we also offer a full suite of templates to save you the time and energy of reinventing the wheel. All you need to do is modify each template to suite your own letterhead and specific business requirements. It is recommended you start by reading this white paper first, to get your bearings, and then move on to the detailed framework document and finally onto the templates. There is no “one right way” to carry out a Procurement Event, a great deal depends on the situation and the personalities involved but a good foundation of practicable and usable documentation is a great place to start. Please remember there is no “one right way” but there are “many wrong ways” so get some experience on your side. |
